This is a feature length film set in 1968 in Memphis Tennesse. I have this right now submitted to a major producer who I'm hoping will take it on. It definitely needs at least a 20 Million dollar budget with all the period set design and the armed forces scenes.
I'll post more here soon.
I am thinking of changing the name to "Memphis Rising" or "Black Memphis".
This is a story told by someone who actually lived in Memphis when Martin Luther King was assasinated... and he was part of the military reserve. Things in this film are far different from what the general public has been led to believe. It is told from his point of view and shows the whites and the blacks at the time and how they were dealing with the political situation, the war in Vietnam and the general racial climate that was Memphis 1968. It's a touching story mixed with political intrigue and the vivid reality of violence.
For me this film will make the population realize that it was not a mass frenzy of racism but that there were specific sources for the trouble and specific men who wanted MLK gone... It shows there are a lot more good guys in us, no matter the color, than we me have thought was the case, and that just a few evil men in power can really do damage.
This property is optioned by me, Stay tuned for more on the production status!

DEADLY VISION
I'm producing a low budget feature film titled "Deadly Vision".
The screenplay was written by Garett Martell.
This is a really cool story about a latina scam artist fortune teller living in LA, conning people out of money... until one day a real fortune teller returns and curses her to really be able to see the future. From then on the woman starts to see how people are going to meet their fate. She starts realizing that it happens every time... and it's real! She desperately tries to save those close to her from their ill fortunes but is it possible?
We're shooting on digital.
Shooting schedule and full budget near completion.
We've cast two of the roles already. SAG Low Budget
